7th YCC Workshop on Comparative Business and Financial Law: Call for Papers

The Younger Comparativists Committee (YCC) of the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) is pleased to invite submissions for its Seventh Workshop on Comparative Business and Financial Law, which will be held on August 27–28, 2026, at Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore). The workshop aims to highlight, develop, and promote the scholarship of new and younger comparativists in accounting, banking, bankruptcy, corporations, commercial law, economics, finance, and securities.

The workshop will take place at NTU Singapore’s Yunnan Garden campus. Wee Cho Yaw Plaza is home to Nanyang Business School and, at the time of its completion, was the largest wooden building in Asia. Singapore is served by Changi International Airport and a developed mass transit network.

Up to ten (10) papers will be chosen from those submitted for presentation at the workshop pursuant to this Call for Papers. The workshop audience will include invited younger scholars, faculty from NBS, law schools in Singapore and the region, and invited guests.

Submissions will only be accepted from scholars who have held a full-time academic appointment for no more than ten (10) years as of June 30, 2026.

Submission Instructions:
To submit an entry, scholars should email an attachment in Microsoft Word or PDF containing an abstract of no more than 1,000 words by 11:59 P.M. EDT, June 5, 2026, to the following address: alan.koh@ntu.edu.sg. Please title the email “YCC Business Law Workshop-[Name]” and attach a file named “LastName.FirstName_ASCLworkshop.”

Abstracts should reflect original research that will not yet have been published, though it may have been accepted for publication by the time of the workshop. Abstracts should include a cover page with the author’s name, title of the paper, institutional affiliation, contact information (email required), and the author’s certification that the author qualifies as a younger scholar, as defined above.

Each scholar may make only one submission. Both individual and co-authored submissions are acceptable. For co-authored submissions, at least one author (ideally the lead or first author) must qualify as an eligible younger comparativist.

Notification:
Invitees will be selected via blind review by the workshop Program Committee. Authors of the submissions selected for the workshop will be notified no later than June 26, 2026. Final papers for the workshop will be due no later than August 2, 2026.

The workshop will be held in person. There is no cost to register for the workshop, but participants are responsible for securing their own funding for travel, lodging, and other incidental expenses. Each participant is expected to be present for the full workshop and to engage actively with the work of other participants.

On-campus accommodation at the Nanyang Executive Centre (NEC) may be available for participants, subject to availability and prevailing rates (from SGD190 per night plus applicable taxes).
